For a Dallas Cowboys fan ,
It has been a rough week .
Two weeks of constant reminders of Dallas’ playoff and Super Bowl failures .
A constant barrage :
- 1966 Championship vs Green Bay : On 4th down play , at the Packers’ 2 , Don Meredith was intercepted in the end zone to end the game .
- 1967 Championship vs Green Bay : The famed Ice Bowl , Bart Starr scores on a QB sneak on a 4th down play ; Lombardi opted for the TD vs going for a FG; A Boneheaded play call that turned out to be one of the smartest , guttiest calls in history .
- 1970 Super Bowl V vs Baltimore : The Blunder Bowl , Baltimore wins in the last few seconds on Jim O Brien’s FG ; Dallas’s lone highlight was Bob Lilly’s 40 yard helmet toss .
- 1975 Super Bowl X vs Pittsburgh : The Black Sunday Bowl : A winnable game ; a heart breaking loss : A catchable pass from Staubach to Percy Howard would have sealed a win , that was not to be .
- 1978 Super Bowl XIII vs Pittsburgh : The Game featuring the Jackie Smith dropped pass ;
- 1981 Championship vs San Francisco : The Catch
- 2006 Playoff vs Seattle : The Romo FG Fumble
Not Counting ALL the other PLAYOFF LOSSES !!!

It was maddening to see all these disappointing losses , over , and over .
But we do have 5 Super Bowl Rings .
And we do have the 1972 Playoff miracle at San Francisco , and the 1975 ” Hail Mary ” .
