With the lockout still in place , there are no rookie mini-camps , or rookie meetings , etc .
When the season is finally played , I do not expect this year’s rookie crop to make much of a difference . Smith , OT , #1 pick , expected starter ; unless the lockout ends soon , do not expect much from him until after mid -season .
